Nick Skilton
Club Leader, and his staff team are insistent that a puposeful and structured
programme is available every club evening.
Young people respond
so well to an ordered atmosphere, and so badly to inactivity and boredom.
With a large gymnasium it is inevitable that sports and physical games feature
prominently, but arts and crafts, quizzes, cooking and discussions also
play their part.
The main club room
(right), is where the snooker table, pool tables and table tennis table
can be found.
Competitions amongst
members are organised nightly and prizes are won if members beat the
leaders at any of the activities.
The facilities
within the club include:
- 5 a side football
- Table Tennis
- Pool
- Snooker
- Volleyball
- Badminton
- Basketball
- Fitness Room
- Dance Studio
- Classroom
- Microsoft XBox
- Television Room
- Tuck Shop
As a further
illustration of the range and variety of activities provided by the Club,
the programme recently has included a weekend residential break in Wey Island,
5 a side football in Derby, YAP (Youth Awareness Programme) discussions,
and a DJ workshop. Boredom is not a problem.
